1874 $1 Bingham Canyon & Camp Floyd R.R. Co. - Salt Lake City, UTAH Note PMG 53

$995.00

This note is PMG Graded About Uncirculated 53 with "Corner Tips Missing, Minor Stains, Pinhole" noted.

Gold and silver were found in Bingham Canyon in 1863, and the Bingham Canyon & Camp Floyd Rail Road Company completed its rail line in 1873. Shortly thereafter, the focus shifted to mining high quality copper ore. Eventually, the ever-expanding open pit started to swallow the town, and the last few remaining buildings were razed in 1972.

An interesting and rare railroad issue that was redeemable at the Salt Lake City National Bank!
