This attractive black and green note printed by the Continental Bank Note Co. features a portrait of Governor J.L Alcorn at the center, flanked by green "V" protectors. On the left is a seated woman and on the right is a Vignette of cotton bolls. The reverse has a detailed Vignette of the State Capitol in Jackson flanked by beautiful ship Vignettes.
This note was issued just after Mississippi was readmitted to the Union in 1870.
This note grades About Uncirculated with a hole-out cancellation and a ~3/8" tear on the bottom of the cancellation.
