1862 $5 The Somerset and Worcester Savings Bank note from Salisbury, Maryland. 

This attractive note from the American Civil War features a Vignette of a cow with her calf taking a rest in a brook under the bank title. On the lower left is a Vignette titled The Reapers. To the lower right is a Vignette of a cooper at work actually titled The Cooper, created by Felix O. Darley and engraved by Walter Shirlaw. 

This note from the American Bank Note Company came in two varieties with red and green protectors. This one is red. 

This note grades Very Fine with some small pinholes. 

It measures ~ 7.25" x 3".
