This bank operated from 1824 until it became the Louisiana National Bank of New Orleans in 1866.

In May, 1862, Union occupation authorities mandated that New Orleans banks could no longer pay out Confederate Treasury Notes resulting in these bills being put into circulation.

At the center is a detailed Vignette of the bank building. Mercury sits with a "20" at the lower left and Athena stands at the upper right.

Thhis note grades Very Fine with a couple large pinholes on the left.

It measures ~ 7" x 3".
