1860 $5 The Central Bank of Virginia note from Staunton, VA.
This bank operated from 1853 until it failed in 1863.
An attractive red and black note printed by the American Bank Note Company. This note features a Vignette of Ceres seated by a plow and agricultural goods at the center. On the lower left a group of drovers walk cattle down a road. On the bottom right is a small train Vignette inside an oval frame.
This note grades Fine with a few small pinholes.
It measures ~ 7" x 3".
