1859 $10 The Bank of Lexington note from Lexington, North Carolina.

This bank operated from 1859 until it failed in 1866 and had a branch in Graham. 

This attractive note with red overprints features a harvesting Vignette at the center with a very early piece of farming machinery. On the sides are Vignettes of Ceres, depicted as a contemporary woman to the lower left and as an allegorical figure at the bottom right. 

This note grades Fine+.
