1857 $5 The Exchange Bank note from Norfolk, Virginia.
This attractive green and black note printed by Rawdon, Wright & Hatch was printed with a laced, green overprint across the face. Above the title is a Vignette of ships at sea. The portraits in the side panels are Washington and Marshall. The reverse has a large green design with the bank name.
This note grades Fine with pinholes, some small edge tears / nicks, and a paper pull on the reverse corner.
