1854 $5 The Exchange Bank of Columbia note from Columbia, South Carolina.

This bank began operations in 1853 and was destroyed by Union Troops in 1865. 

This note features a Vignette of a woman seated beside the State Seals and a bust of Calhoun at the center. On the left is a portrait of F.H. Elmore. Two red "5" protectors flank the center Vignette.

This note grades Fine with small edge nicks and a ~3/8" tear on the top.

It measures ~ 7" x 3".
