1800's $9 The Peoples' Bank of Paterson note from Paterson, New Jersey

This bank operated from 1824 until it failed in 1851. An issue that is always in high demand for its odd denomination notes!

This note features a Vignette of Hebe, the Goddess of Eternal Youth offering a cup to an eagle which is commonly believed to be her father, Zeus, in the shape of an eagle. The Vignette is flanked by large "IX" dies. Two other allegorical maiden Vignettes are seen on the left and right panels with "9" counters below. 

This note grades Very Fine+ with hinges and residue on the reverse top corners.
