1800's $5 The Stonington Bank note from Stonington, Connecticut. 

This bank operated from 1822 until it closed in 1867. 

This note features a Vignette of an allegorical maiden seated at the center holding a Liberty Pole, Scales, seated by a Cornucopia, and resting her foot on a Globe. These are all symbols representing Liberty, Justice, Plenty, and Navigation. On the left end is a Vignette of Neptune and his family being pulled in a clam shell chariot by hippocampi. 

This note is PCGS Graded Gem Uncirculated 65 PPQ (Premium Paper Quality).
